Usha Martin University unveiled the Centre for Ethics, the first initiative of its kind among universities in Jharkhand, dedicated to spreading awareness of ethical values, fostering ethical consciousness in the community, and promoting research in related areas.

Usha Martin University marked a historic milestone with the inauguration of the Centre for Ethics, the first initiative of its kind among universities in Jharkhand. The Centre has been established with the objective of spreading awareness of ethical values, fostering ethical consciousness within society, and encouraging research and dialogue in the field of ethics and ethical leadership.

The Centre for Ethics aims to design and implement specialized programmes on Ethical Leadership, while also working toward the development and strengthening of ethical systems in education and across diverse professional domains. Through academic programmes, research initiatives, seminars, workshops, and community outreach, the Centre seeks to nurture responsible leadership and promote integrity, accountability, and social responsibility.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Prabhat Kumar, Chancellor of Usha Martin University, shared the vision and philosophy behind the establishment of the Centre for Ethics. He highlighted the growing need for ethical frameworks in today’s rapidly changing social and professional environments. Dr Madhulika Kaushik, Vice Chancellor, elaborated on the Centre’s planned activities, objectives, and long-term roadmap, emphasizing its role in shaping value-driven individuals and institutions. To ensure effective guidance and strategic direction, an Advisory Board comprising eminent experts has also been constituted.

The launch event was further enriched by the inaugural lecture under the Series of Eminent Speakers, delivered by Dr Amit Mukherji, a renowned ethical leader and catalyst for social change. His insightful address inspired students and faculty members to reflect on ethical decision-making and the role of values in leadership and societal transformation.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 500 students and faculty members, making it a memorable and inspiring beginning for this significant initiative. The inauguration of the Centre for Ethics reaffirms Usha Martin University’s commitment to holistic education and the creation of ethically conscious future leaders.
